OPPORTUNITIES:
We’re Hiring – Administration Officer & Casual Cleaner
Central Craft is looking for a new Arts Administration Officer to support members, volunteers, workshops, events, the shop, and daily admin.
We’re also seeking a Casual Cleaner to keep our studios safe and welcoming. The role requires someone reliable, physically able to carry out the role, and willing to learn and follow safe cleaning practices suited to a working studio environment.

Sep 11–14: Desert Mob Events at Central Craft
It’s just 3 weeks until DesMob 2025! During this time, our studios will be hired out for Desert Mob activities and satellite events. Please note some of these bookings might affect regular craft groups and member access on the following dates:
Thu 11 Sep
- 12pm–10pm: Front Outdoor Veranda (outside shop)

6pm–8pm: No car park access / movement during the Opening Ceremony
Sat 13 Sep
- 9am–5pm: Main Studio (all tables booked) - Free Sgraffito Demo with Ernabella Arts (painting onto ceramic vases)

9am–5pm: Ceramics Studio – Part 1 of Hermannsburg Potters Ceramic Workshop
Sun 14 Sep
- 9am–5pm: Main Studio - Hermannsburg Potters Workshop – Part 2 (painting onto ceramic vases)
Thanks so much for your understanding! Hiring out our spaces helps keep Central Craft running and supporting our community. We’ve worked closely with DesMob to make sure the studios stay clean, safe, and ready for everyone to use afterwards – they’re respectful hirers and fellow members, so you can be confident the space is in good hands. STUDIO NEWS
Aug 30th - Sep 25th: Jan Black away (Saturday Sewing)
To those that come to Saturday Sewing - Jan will be away! But that doesn’t mean you can’t still come along Saturdays 2pm - 4pm~ and share your own skills together like our other regular craft groups. There won’t be any formal tutor to guide you, but Jan is confident you’ve got the skills to help each other out while she is away.
Also a reminder, for anyone who has attended a session/s with Jan, and has yet to pay (you know who you are, and so do we!) please be sure to pay ASAP.
FOB-Key waitlist + update
Thank you for your patience! New keys have been ordered and should arrive by the end of this week (or next at the latest). If you’re waiting, please email directors@centralcraft.org.au with the subject line FOB-Key Waitlist. You’ll also need to complete a studio induction when collecting your key.
FOB-keys are only for members who pay the ‘Annual FOB-Key Service Fee, along with the one-time $50 refundable deposit. If you loose or break your key, you will need to pay this again. If you leave town, or end your membership and return your key - you will get $50 refunded back.
We have slightly updated this process recently. If you would like to be able to access to studio when you like, you’ll need to:

Have an ‘After-Hours Access’ type of membership
- This type of membership has the old annual FOB Service Fee built in so you don’t forget to pay it!

Email a staff member requesting to purchase a FOB (a $50 refundable deposit), and to arrange a studio induction. You will be charged for your FOB on the dat of your induction.
