Cyanotype: Shadow WorkShop
with Kelly Lee Hickey

In conjunction with Carmen Ansaldo’s SPARK NT exhibition Groundswell: recent movements within art and territory exhibiting artist Kelly Lee Hickey will be running a cyanotype workshop at Central Craft.

What stories of trade and travel are hidden in our everyday items?  A teaspoon, a phone, a pair of shoes - these objects have shadow lives filled with other people and other places.

Shadow WorkShop blends practical philosophy with hands on creative practice. In this two hour workshop participants will explore their relationship to "Shadow Places" through reflective discussion and the creation of cyanotype shadow prints of everyday items. Through this process participants will gain an understanding of Val Plumwood's concept of Shadow Places, and it's implications for our responsibilities to land and labour.

Groundswell: recent movements within art and territory will be on display at Araluen Arts Centre 5 March – 3 May, 2021.

Sunday 7 March, 10-12pm

The SPARK NT Curator Program is an Artback NT initiative.

$15 Bookings essential.
