Weaving a Bird From Flax with Jodie Goldring - Thursday 22 June 2023 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Learn how to use natural plant fibre (flax) to create a bird from your imagination or using an image to inspire you! We will start with a simple framework of wire and slowly “flesh out” surfaces using the basketry technique known as random weaving (or interlacing). Jodie will provide a demonstration showing how to collect, split, dry and rehydrate flax in preparation for weaving.
